MOT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Broadband and wireless communications company Motorola Inc (NYSE:MOT)
announced on Monday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire
content management and delivery systems provider BitBand.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not revealed.

According to the company, Israeli-based BitBand has more than 60
commercial IPTV deployments worldwide. The acquisition is expected to
complement Motorola's existing on-demand product line, which includes
the Adaptive Media Management framework for content management and
streaming servers for centralised and edge-based on demand networks.

Motorola can offer comprehensive on demand solutions for its customers,
addressing a range of deployment scales, access networks, video formats

BitBand will be integrated into Motorola's Home & Networks Mobility
business.

The acquisition is expected to close in Q4 2009, subject to customary
