Philips to establish medical imaging base in east China
PHG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Royal Philips Electronics of the
Netherlands will found a medical imaging base in Suzhou city, east
China's Jiangsu province, according to an agreement signed between
Philips and Suzhou.
The base, located at Suzhou Industrial Park, designed to cover an
area of 62,000 square meters.
Philips plans to invest 54 million US dollars and hire 500
employees in the following five years for the base, which will
complete construction in the middle of 2012.
The base will produce computerized tomographic angiography (CTA)
equipments and 1.5T MR imaging systems for large hospitals, as well
as X-ray equipments for medium-sized hospitals.
It will be a center combining medical imaging R&D, production,
assembly and purchasing.
