BRIEF: Train halts after man falls on railroad tracks
NSC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Traffic on West Hill Avenue was delayed for about 30 minutes Tuesday while authorities responded to what they thought was an accident at a Norfolk Southern train route.
Valdosta police and emergency medical services responded to the area around 12:30 p.m. Valdosta Police Capt. Bobbi McGraw said that a train had been stopped on the track because train personnel thought a man had been hit.
"The train was stopped as a precautionary measure," she said. "Fortunately, they discovered that the man had just fallen on the track, but was not hit."
Around 1 p.m. the train resumed its route, and traffic continued as normal.
