PETZF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ? Leading oil refiner Petron Corp. on Monday vowed to freeze prices of diesel, gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) despite the lifting of Executive Order 839.

Eric O. Recto, president of Petron, said that while they welcome the lifting of EO 839, they would still offer lower prices of their products especially on areas that have been badly affected by the two calamities that hit the country in the two previous months.

?We welcome the lifting of EO 839, and as we have committed to the government, we are prepared to implement a program to assist our countrymen in areas that were directly affected by the recent calamities,? Recto said.

?We will offer price discounts on gasoline, diesel, kerosene and cooking gas (LPG) in identified areas until the end of November. We will likewise freeze the prices of automotive and motorcycle lubricants sold at our service stations in those areas until December 31,? the official further said.

?We wish to assure the public that we are doing our best to ensure a continuous and reliable supply of fuels while ensuring that price moves are in line with international price changes,? Recto said.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. (UPPI) like Petron also committed itself to temper the prices of their petroleum products after the government decided to lift EO 839.
