NEC ELECTRONICS UNVEILS BATTERY-FREE REMOTE CONTROL
NELTY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- NEC Electronics Corp. (TSE:6723)
has developed with Soundpower Corp. a prototype of a remote
control that functions without a battery.
To turn a television on or off, the new device uses
electricity generated by the movements of a finger pressing
buttons. The two firms will aim for commercialization by 2011
and continue with their collaboration.
The battery-free control combines a Soundpower vibration
power generator and NEC Electronics' microcontroller and power
supply control technologies.
