CHINA'S ICBC PUSHES AHEAD WITH PRIVATE BANKING BUSINESS

private banking department with the Industrial and Commercial
Bank of China (ICBC), (SSE:601398) started business on
Wednesday, marking the start of ICBC's second round of
strategic deployment of private banking service.
Since established in March 2008, ICBC's private banking
department has opened business outlets in four key first-tier
cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Six strategic second-tier cities have been selected for the
second round of openings, including Chengdu. And the ICBC is
currently preparing to open private banking outlets in the
other five cities, namely Taiyuan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Jinan and
Zhengzhou.
The ICBC's private banking business provides wealth
management services to clients with financial assets over 8
billion yuan.
