TAITRA & Google sign cooperation plan worth USD6.6m to encourage Taiwan's SMEs
GOOG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Google Inc
(NASDAQ:GOOG) signed a plan of cooperation on 28 October 2009 to
provide USD6.6m worth of keyword ad spaces free of charge to Taiwan's
small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs), both companies disclosed on
Wednesday.
"Free Try-out Plan of Google's Keyword Advertisements for Taiwan trade
Members" will benefit over 6,000 Taiwanese SMEs and help trade members
establish Google AdWords accounts, providing keywords and Internet
marketing strategies' optimisation suggestions.
President and CEO of TAITRA, Yuen-chuan Chao stated that the
cooperation now is to raise the effectiveness of the Taiwan's Ministry
of Economic Affairs "New Zheng He Plan" launched last year to combine
the resources of actual trade exhibitions with virtual Internet
marketing and increase Taiwan's export trade.
Taiwan's SMEs will be marketed to over 100 countries and regions
globally, according to Lee-Feng Chien, Google's Managing Director of
Taiwan.
