Forbes selected companies with revenue between $5 million and $750 million and with a share price above $5.00. Rankings are based on earnings growth, sales growth and return on equity in the past 12 months and over five years, as well as comparing the stock performance of each company with that of its peers. Shares of last year's list members outpaced the Russell by 10 percentage points.

Founded in 1986, Universal Electronics (UEI) is a provider of wireless control technology for the connected home. UEI designs, develops, and delivers solutions that enable consumers to control entertainment devices, digital media, and home systems.
