Clearwire Corporation (CLWR) builds and operates wireless broadband networks that enable Internet communications. Its wireless broadband networks cover entire communities and deliver a high-speed Internet connection that not only creates a new communications path into the home or office, but also provides a broadband connection anytime and anywhere within its coverage area. It offers services in both domestic and international markets. The Company's services consist primarily of providing wireless broadband connectivity, but in some of its domestic markets, it also offers voice-over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephony services.

"CLWR announced last week that it has executed a definitive agreement to raise $1.564 billion in new investment capital from Sprint Nextel Corporation, Comcast Corporation, Time Warner Cable Inc., Intel Corporation, Eagle River Holdings LLC and Bright House Networks LLC in exchange for newly issued shares priced at $7.33 per share. Participants in the new round of equity financing include Sprint Nextel for $1.176 billion, Comcast for $196 million, Time Warner Cable for $103 million, Intel for $50 million, Eagle River for $20 million and Bright House Networks for $19 million.

"CLWR earlier this month announced the expansion of its sales operations for CLEAR's super fast mobile Internet service throughout the Philadelphia region. The Company also named Andrew Kupiec as general manager for the Philadelphia market. With CLEAR, consumers and businesses can access the Internet wirelessly, at true broadband speeds -- at home, in the office, and on the go anywhere in the CLEAR coverage area."
