BMC Software and Salesforce.com Partner to Develop Cloud-Based IT Service Management

CRM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- BMC Software and salesforce.com, an enterprise cloud computing company, announced a partnership to provide BMC's IT management solutions on the Force.com platform.

"BMC's new alliance with salesforce.com will make it easier than ever for customers to automate their IT and achieve a return on their investment," said BMC Chairman and CEO Bob Beauchamp. "A simplified and standardized service desk is critical to improving efficiency, increasing service levels and reducing costs."

BMC Service Desk Express on Force.com is currently scheduled to be available in the second quarter of calendar year 2010. BMC and salesforce.com said they both intend to co-market and co-sell the solution.

Salesforce.com is an enterprise cloud computing company. The company's Force.com platform allows customers, partners and developers to build business applications to run every part of the enterprise in the cloud.

The Force.com platform powers the Salesforce CRM applications with more than 800 ISV partner applications like those from CODA and Fujitsu, and more than 135,000 custom applications used by salesforce.com's 67,900 customers such as Japan Post, Kaiser Permanente, Kone and Sprint Nextel.
