Oshkosh meets November M-ATV delivery requirement before schedule
OSK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Manufacturer of tactical military vehicles Oshkosh Corporation
(NYSE:OSK) revealed on Friday that on 19 November its MRAP All Terrain
Vehicle (M-ATV) production requirement for the month was ahead of
schedule.
The accelerated M-ATV delivery schedule was exceeded by Oshkosh for the
fifth consecutive month and it intends to continue increasing
production for the requirement of 1,000 vehicles next month, through to
April 2010.
Oshkosh's 6,219 M-ATV production contract for an urgent need in
Afghanistan and first delivery order began in June. Additionally the
company said that it received orders to provide spare-parts kits and
in-theatre Field Service Representatives (FSR) to sustain the full
life-cycle of the programme.
Oshkosh Defense and Plasan North America jointly provide an advanced
armour solution for the M-ATV. The armour system used on more than
5,000 legacy MRAPs and Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement
(MTVR) Armoured Cabs already in theatre were developed by Plasan as
well.
