AUSTRALIA'S TELSTRA UNVEILS NEW BROADBAND PACKAGES
TLSYY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Telstra Corporation Ltd
(ASX:TLS) has released a series of new broadband plans as the
telco aims to sharpen its offerings in the ultra competitive
sector.
Telstra chief executive David Thodey had flagged the changes
at a company investor day in October.
A range of new broadband plans will offer customers faster
speeds and higher data allowances for the same price, while
excess usage fees have been removed on most plans, acting group
manager of Telstra's consumer business Glenice Maclellan
said.
New plans from December 1 will see 10 times the data
allowance on Telstra's entry level plan and new high usage
plans of 100 and 200 gigabytes.
A range of bundled packages will also be offered to deliver
broadband, home phone and Foxtel on a single bill, Ms Maclellan
said in a statement on Thursday.
Telstra's most recent annual results showed a drop in fixed
broadband takeup, but its wireless broadband revenue grew by
69.2 per cent to A$587 million (US$547.03 million).
