Water projects for Nooriabad, Hyderabad industrial estates to complete in three months, says Rauf

ARUKF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Muhammad Rauf Siddiqui has said that installation of filter plants for water supply in SITE Hyderabad and from Keenjhar Lake to SITE Nooriabad worth Rs1.2 billion would be completed in three months. This he said while addressing a press conference at his office on Saturday. He said project of installation of drainage system and filter plants in industrial area of Nawabshah worth Rs253.67 million would also be completed by December. He further apprised that works for improving infrastructure, drainage system and water supply which was started in five estates of SITE Limited including Karachi, Nooriabad, Kotri, Hyderabad and Sukkur is likely to be completed in three months. The project costs Rs499.7million.

Minister said that Artisan Colony would also be established in Mithi and 100 expert artisans of the area would be provided financial assistance to run their vocation, effectively.

Rauf Siddiqui further said that new industrial estate is being established in district Khairpur in collaboration with Kuwaiti investors to set up date processing plants. He said this project would help to produce good quality dates and providing employment to local people.

He suggested all industrialists to run cleanliness campaign in their respective industrial zones to improve the environment, adding the condition of obtaining NOC in this regard has already been withdrawn.

The minister said committee has been formed to deal with irregularity in measurement of the allotted lands of Hyderabad and Mithi. He added that committee has been directed to forward its report to anti- corruption department and NAB for action against elements involved in this bungling.

He said other respective committees have also been formed to inspect the quality of construction works in Mithi and other areas and to forward its report to secretary industries.

He said all basic facilities has been provided in Small Industries Estate Northern Bypass adding that allottees of plots in the zone are directed to start construction on their plots within 15 days, otherwise registration of their plots would be cancelled, he added. Managing Director Sindh Small Industries Abdul Rasheed Solangi, Deputy MD Mushtaque Laghari and others were also present.
