ESRLF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Other oil & gas stocks such as Gail India shot up by 4.29 per cent, HPCL by 2.29 per cent, Essar Oil by 2.05 per cent and ONGC by 1.49 per cent.

Among FMCG stocks, Dabur India spurted by 4.38 per cent, ITC by 3.54 per cent and Hindustan Unilever by 1.25 per cent.

Major gainers in the Sensex pack were ACC (2.97 per cent), ICICI Bank (2.18 per cent), Sun Pharma (2.07 per cent), Grasim (1.99 per cent) and Sterlite Ind (1.56 per cent).

Bharti Airtel witnessed heavy selling pressure and fell by 4.48 per cent. Jaiprakash Associates was down 1.40 per cent and Reliance Comm 1.04 per cent.

The market breadth continued to be positive with 1,560 gainers against 1,178 losers on BSE.
