EDF announces new executive appointment

NTXFF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- France-based EDF has appointed Henri Proglio as the new chairman and CEO. Mr Proglio has been a non-executive director of EDF since September 2004 and his term of office as a director was renewed for a period of five years by the EDF shareholders' general meeting which took place in November 2009.

Mr Proglio retains his position as non-executive chairman of the Veolia Environment's board of directors. He is also a non-executive director of CNP Assurances, Dassault Aviation and Natixis.

Mr Proglio was appointed vice president of Vivendi Universal and chairman and CEO of Vivendi Water in 1999 before becoming chairman of Veolia Environnement in 2000 and then chairman and CEO in 2003.
