AUSTRALIA'S VILLAGE ROADSHOW COMPLETES ON-MARKET BUY-BACK

operator Village Roadshow Ltd (VRL) (ASX:VRL) has completed an
on-market buy-back of ordinary shares and preference shares,
the company said on Friday.
Village has bought 12,690,800 ordinary shares, representing
10 per cent of the total number of ordinary shares on issue,
and 45 million preference shares representing 46.1 per cent of
all preference shares on issue.
The shares and preference shares were bought for A$105.1
million (US$95.96 million), excluding transaction costs.
Village chairman John Kirby said the buy-back attracted
significant interest from both ordinary shareholders and
preference shareholders.
"We are very pleased with the positive response to the
on-market buy-back," Mr Kirby said in a statement.
"The successful execution of the buy-back is consistent with
VRL's capital management objective of creating a more efficient
and effective capital structure and maximising value for all
VRL shareholders."
