BRIEF: Warrensburg power outage not wind-powered
NGG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- A day after heavy winds caused scattered outages in the region, National Grid says there are no more wind-related outages today.
However, about 50 customers in Warren County are without power because of equipment failure, said National Grid spokeswoman Karen Young.
The utility's Web site said 48 customers were without power in the town of Warrensburg, where National Grid has 2,500 customers.
"That's not related to the storm," Young said. "We have crews going out there now."
Heavy winds Saturday morning knocked out power to more than 3,000 National Grid customers. Young said crews rolled out across the region to restore power as outages occurred.
The National Weather Service reported gusts as high as 50 mph early Saturday.
New York State Electric & Gas, which serves pockets of the Capital Region, said that it had outages on county Route 7 in Hillsdale in Columbia County, although no numbers were given.
