ZTE promotes LTE with Vodafone's German subsidiary

e manufacturer ZTE Corporation (000063.SZ, 00763.HK) announced that th
e company is jointly promoting LTE (Long Term Evolution) with Vodafon
e's German subsidiary, the China Securities Journal reported.

In order to cooperate with many of Europe's leading telecommunic
ation operators to promote the LTE testing and construction, ZTE Corpo
ration has established an LTE research center in Germany. The company
has established thus far LTE research centers in seven countries
and regions including Sweden, Germany, the U.S, Hong Kong, and Chinese
provincial capital city Xi'an.

The company is continuously increasing its investment in the dev
elopment of LTE. It has now won more than ten contracts to build LTE n
etworks for leading telecommunications players such as China Mobile (0
941.HK), CSL, Telefonica, and Singtel.

According to Zhang Zhigang, vice president with ZTE Corporation
(Europe and North America), the company's SDR solution will allow the
various communication standards networks such as GSM/UMTS/LTE to co-ex
ist. This will help operators to reduce capital expenditures and creat
e a truly green, energy saving, and environmentally friendly network.

Vodafone is a multinational mobile network operator headquartere
d in Newbury, United Kingdom. It is the world's largest mobile telecom
munication network company, based on revenue, and has a market value o
f about 71.2 billion British pounds, as of November 2009.
