Yushiro Chemical is currently selecting a site in Guangzhou and expects to begin construction soon, spending roughly 350 million yen (US$3 million) for a factory that can make 5,000 tons of the oils a year for supply to Japanese-affiliated automakers and other companies in the region.
Yushiro Chemical is a leading maker of these oils, with 30 per cent of Japan's overall domestic market and 60 per cent of the auto-related market. As Japanese automakers move overseas, the company has also expanded its overseas presence.
