These prices increases will be implemented by December 1, 2007, subject to existing contracts.
These price increases are required to compensate for the severe escalation in production costs due to rises in energy and transportation costs, and to enable continued GMP, environmental and other regulatory activities in supporting its products.
ICL-IP's Magnesia Products division produces magnesia products; magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide and magnesium carbonate, for application in rubber, plastics, electrical steel, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and food chemicals. Recently DSP was audited by the Israeli Ministry of Health and by the US FDA and was approved for the production of pharmaceutical raw materials. The division is currently adding to its capacity; the basic capacity expansion will be completed by mid 2008, and further debottlenecking expansions in other specialty production lines should all be completed during 2008.
ICL Industrial Products is one of the ICL's (TASE: ICL) three operating segments. It produces bromine, magnesia and chlorine from Dead Sea brines, and manufactures and markets a range of bromine and phosphorous based compounds, including flame retardants, bromides for industry, agriculture and water treatment, as well as a range of magnesia products and chlorine-based products for numerous uses.
