BRIEF: Solar energy series kicks off Wed.

Nov 26, 2007 (The Arizona Daily Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- SOPW | charts | news | PowerRating -- Solar Power 101: A Community Education Series on Solar Energy begins with the first session from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Woods Memorial Branch Library, 3455 N. First Ave.

District 8 Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will speak, along with Scott Johnson, senior outreach representative for Defenders of Wildlife. Homeowners can also learn about the basics of financing and installing a residential solar energy system.

The series runs through May and will feature monthly meetings on several solar-related topics at a different library each month. For more information, visit www.library.pima.gov.
