Jul 08, 2008 (INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS via COMTEX) -- HAS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Electronic Arts Inc (EA) (Nasdaq:ERTS), an interactive, entertainment software company, and Hasbro Inc (NYSE:HAS) announced on Monday (7 July) that the companies will deliver authentic SCRABBLE games to the Facebook platform and Pogo.com, an on-line game site, in the US and Canada.

EA's first Hasbro-based Facebook application is expected to launch later this month, while the Pogo.com SCRABBLE game is available immediately.

SCRABBLE from EA on Facebook Platform will reportedly be the first EA Hasbro-licensed property to go live on a social networking site. Many more Hasbro game properties are in development and scheduled to launch on social networking sites later this year.

The companies said that SCRABBLE on Pogo is the initial HASBRO title in a suite of free online games scheduled to go live on Pogo in 2008.

EA SCRABBLE games are currently available on mobile phones and the iPod in the US and Canada.
