Jul 19, 2008 (Danville Register & Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- TCNYF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- American National Bank & Trust Co. announced Friday that three executives have received promotions to newly created positions.

Organizational changes for the promotions were approved Tuesday by the bank's board of directors, according to a news release.

Jeffrey V. Haley has been named president of trust and financial services. He was executive vice president and chief operating officer and will remain as an executive vice president of the bank.

American National Bank said it manages more than $450 million of trust and investments.

S. Cabell Dudley Jr. will become executive vice president and chief lending officer.

American National Bank's regional executives will report to him and he will have overall responsibility for commercial and retail lending, the release states. Previously, he served as senior vice president for commercial banking in the bank's Lynchburg region.

Dabney T.P. "Dexter" Gilliam Jr. is the new executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

Gilliam's responsibility will be branch administration and development, marketing, human resources and facilities management, bank officials said.

He was a senior vice president in the Danville office.

Neal A. Petrovich, executive vice president and chief financial officer, and R. Helm Dobbins, executive president and chief credit officer, will remain in their current roles, the release states.

The company said all five executive vice presidents will report to Charles H. Majors, president and chief executive officer, and will join him as members of the bank's executive management group.

"I am pleased that these executives will be assuming their new roles," Majors said in the release. "This new organization will permit us to strengthen our focus as our customers' relationship bank.

"A native of Danville, Jeff Haley is heavily involved in community activities in the Danville region. He is the right person to assume this important new role as head of Trust and Financial Services," Majors added. "Cabell Dudley and Dexter Gilliam bring vast experience to their new responsibilities. I am confident that this new structure will be positive for our bank."

American National Bank & Trust Co. is a community bank serving Southern and Central Virginia, as well as a portion of central North Carolina, with 20 banking offices and a loan production office.
