Brier is reportedly the seventh community in the state of Washington to grant a video franchise to Verizon. The company also plans to begin offering FiOS TV in Washington later this year.
Verizon's FiOS TV is delivered over an all-fibre network directly to the customers' homes. It offers over 400 all-digital channels, an array of high-definition channels, and a library of over 10,000 video-on-demand (VOD) titles each month, 70% of which are free. In addition, FiOS delivers Internet download speeds of up to 50 Mb/s and upload speeds of up to 20 Mb/s, as well as high-quality voice services.
Brier has authorised Verizon to offer FiOS TV to up to 2,200 households.
Verizon already provides FiOS TV in parts of California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
