BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug 7, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- FUTPF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- A photo for this release will be available via Marketwire on the picture wire of The Canadian Press

Future Shop, Canada's largest retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, is asking Canadian students what their back-to-school ritual is for a chance to win the ultimate dorm room prize pack. The online contest that launched August 1, 2008, encourages students to upload a video documenting their ritual and posting it on the Future Shop website www.futureshop.ca/schoolritual. The top 10 videos will then be posted on September 5, 2008 and the public will have until September 11, 2008 to vote for their favourite. The winning video will be announced on September 15, 2008.

"Whether it's buying new shoes, or going on a road trip with friends to celebrate the last few days of summer freedom, we know that students have their own unique way of saluting the summer," said Susan Kirk, communications manager for Future Shop. "This contest is our way to get them excited about the new school year - so grab those cameras and start uploading."

For an added bonus, when Canadians go online to vote for their favourite video, they can enter to win one of five HP Pavilion laptops (valued at $1,200 each). Prizing will be done by random draw.

The Back-to-School ultimate dorm room prize pack valued at $5,000 includes the following:

- LG 50" Plasma HDTV

- Xbox 360 Live 12-month gold card

- Xbox 360 Elite

- XBOX 360 Wireless Headset USB Charger
