The city's Development Services Department and the Science Applications International Corporation, better known as SAIC, will have the meetings to discuss the city's Military Regional Growth Management Plan, which is a "key component in proactively addressing the opportunities and challenges expected with the implementation of BRAC," said Julie Baldwin-Munoz, spokeswoman for the city's Development Services Department, in a news release.
The meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at El Paso Community College's Transmountain campus, 9570 Gateway North; Wednesday at the Marty Robbins Recreation Center, 11620 Vista Del Sol; and Thursday in the council chambers of City Hall, 2 Civic Center Plaza.
The Military Regional Growth Management Plan addresses several areas, including:
--Assessment of existing conditions.
--Future land use.
--Circulation and traffic.
--Public utilities and infrastructure.
--Education.
--Health and social services.
--Public safety and emergency services (fire, police, ambulance).
--Quality of life.
