Without a quorum present, the board could not take action. But board
chairman Jane Dalton provided information regarding several recent
donations.
The Park Board received a $1,000 donation from the Lions Club. A Golf
Scramble for the park raised $850 and the recent Kiwanis Club Family Fun
Night raised approximately $4,000 for the park.
Dalton noted that the park has been awarded nearly $30,000 in a Land and
Water Conservation Grant. She said the specifics regarding the grant should
be available in October.
Dalton also provided an update regarding the restroom construction
project at the park. She said it is moving along well and is expected to be
completed in early October.
The board received a copy of a new contract with the Fair Board. They
also are considering a request from the Contented Heart Quilt Guild to use
the large shelter house for a fundraising event in October.
The next regularly scheduled Park Board meeting will be September 9 at 6
p.m.
