The company said it has signed contracts for six new full scope simulators for a variety of conventional power plants that include coal fired, natural gas and combined cycle gas turbine systems in the US and Europe. These plants will be implementing control systems from three digital control system vendors: Emerson, ABB and GE. Additionally, several contracts have been awarded to upgrade existing GSE simulators to reflect plant design changes.
John V. Moran, GSE's Chief Executive Officer said, "The strong flow of new business in our conventional power plant sector has continued during the third quarter of this year. We are currently working on a record number of projects in this business sector and believe the opportunity for continued growth is large and expanding. This growth is being driven by both the construction of new plants globally as well as the world-wide movement to replace aging analog control rooms with modern digital control systems. In both cases, our high fidelity simulators are being used early in the design process to verify plant and control system design with the follow on economic, safety and operator training benefits to the customer for the life of the facility."
