China's No. 3 lender will open down 3.4 percent.
BOC Hong Kong the local arm of China's second largest lender, bucked the downtrend to open up 3.7 percent after Merrill Lynch put the stock on its most preferred issues list.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index was indicated to open 88.52 points lower at 12,827.37.
The China Enterprises Index of top locally listed mainland Chinese firms will open down 1.5 percent at 6,499.02.
