IR Spotlights Energy-efficient Innovations at Key Asia Industry Events

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sep 05, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- IRF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- International Rectifier Corporation (NYSE:IRF) today announced it is participating in a comprehensive program of industry events this Fall focused on energy savings and environmental protection. The company will showcase its energy-efficient power management technologies and products for the Asia markets including automotive, appliance, lighting and information processing applications.

Commenting on IR's schedule of key industry events, David Poon, IR's vice president, Asia Sales, said: "With worldwide energy costs increasing dramatically, the demand for energy efficiency is growing exponentially. With its innovative power management technologies and rich product pipelines, IR has an integral role to play in the quest for energy savings by sharing our power management initiatives and innovations with the engineering communities and joining forces with our business partners."

IR will participate in the following conferences and tradeshows:

7th Power Management Technology Conference 2008 by Electronics Products China -- Shenzhen, Shanghai

Co-organized by Electronics Products China and 21iC Web, IR will participate in the Shenzhen Roadshow on September 6, 2008 and the Shanghai Roadshow on September 11, 2008. Richard Shen, IR Marketing Manager, will present the SupIRBuck(TM) portfolio of versatile wide input, single output integrated point-of-load (POL) DC-DC voltage regulators for data center and consumer applications.

Energy-efficiency Conference (IC China Summit) by China Semiconductor Industry Association and U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association -- Suzhou

This major conference takes place on September 18, 2008, in Suzhou hosted by the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA), Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Electronic & Information Industry Sub-Council. The conference will promote the semiconductor industry's contribution to "energy efficiency and green power" and will focus on collaboration among semiconductor manufacturers, IC companies, solution providers and energy-efficiency policy makers. Li Ming, IR senior manager, China Application Center, will present "Enabling Technologies for your Innovation - IR iMotion(TM) Integrated Design Platform for energy-efficiency applications" designed for variable speed motor control.

The IC China summit and Technical seminar is recognized as a pivotal annual platform for information communication and technological exchange in the China semiconductor industry. In past years, Chinese government officials (vice ministers) and CEOs from domestic and international companies have given speeches covering a broad range of topics in the electronics and IC industries and has attracted around 10,000 people from IC industries to attend the summit, technical seminar, and Exhibition.

Global Semiconductor Congress -- Shenzhen

The second Global Semiconductor Congress will be held in Shenzhen on October 11, 2008. One of the key activities during the China Hi-Tech Fair - China's leading technology show in Shenzhen - the Congress, together with industry leaders will promote energy saving initiatives for China communities as well as sharing insights into power semiconductor technical innovations and market trends. David Poon, IR vice president, Asia Sales, will present "Enabling Technologies to Create a Greener Planet" to the Congress.
