"In addition to their musical talent, Brad's quick wit and Carrie's gracefulness will serve them well in this role. CMA is happy to offer both of them their first opportunity to host a nationally televised network awards show," Tammy Genovese, CMA chief executive officer, said.
Paisley and Underwood are each scheduled to perform a song. Previously announced performers include Brooks&Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban.

Former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker remains atop the country radio charts this week with "Don't Think I Don't Think About It." It's the first single off his debut country album, "Learn to Live," which topped Billboard's Top Country Albums chart last week.
The album's title track comes from life experience for Rucker, who was raised in a single-parent household after his father left when he was young. The father figure in his life was Mr. Campbell, an older man who lived a couple doors down. "Learn to Live" tells of Grandpa Campbell doling out advice. Mr. Campbell wasn't his genetic grandfather, but Rucker looked up to him like a grandfather.
"He was my best friend. My dad wasn't around and never did anything for me. I played sports, and Mr. Campbell was always there for me," Rucker told me recently.
"I remember there was this 7-year-old football end of the year banquet I wanted to go to. I remember fretting about taking my mom or going by myself. He said I'll take you."
The day after talking to me, Rucker was headed to Mr. Campbell's to take him a copy of his new CD.
"He's very important to me, and I'd never really told him that. 'Learn to Live' is a big song for me."
Rucker talks more about his new album and his thoughts about country music in Sunday's Blade.
