Stocks are down as of midday on Friday. But despite that, the number of midday movers to the upside is significantly greater than the number of midday movers to the downside.
Dell (DELL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) was in full retreat and down by more than 13% midway through trading on Friday after missing estimates by five cents Thursday after the market closed. Also lower on the day were Research in Motion (RIMM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and Oracle Corporation (ORCL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which were down by more than 4% and 3% respectively as of midday.
Among the biggest midday movers to the upside on the final trading day of the week are Jamba Inc. (JMBA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which soared higher a day after missing analyst earnings estimates by a wide margin Thursday after the bell.
