Futures Drift Up Slightly - U.S. Commentary ($COMPX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)

(RealTimeTraders.com) With traders continuing to devour the feast of earnings news, the futures have improved slightly over the past hour, but they are still fairly close to the flat line.

DaimlerChrysler (DCX) revealed that Jurgen Schrempp, Chairman of its Board of Management, will leave the company at the end of 2005, with Dieter Zetsche, head of the Chrysler group, taking over his position. Tom LaSorda will become head of the Chrysler unit. The company also reported a second-quarter profit of $0.88 per share, compared to $0.69 per share last year.

Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) announced a second-quarter non-GAAP profit of $0.47 per share, up from $0.46 per share last year. Wall Street analysts had expected earnings to dip to $0.36 per share. For the full year, the company projected a profit at the upper end of its previously given guidance range of $1.35-$1.45 per share.

Meritage Homes Corp. Topped The Q2 Consensus - Stock To Watch (MTH | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)

(RealTimeTraders.com) Meritage Homes Corp. (MTH) reported second quarter EPS of $2.05 after the bell on Wednesday, which beat the consensus estimate of $1.73. The company expects to report third quarter EPS of $2.20 to $2.30 and full year EPS of $7.75 to $8.00. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $2.04 and $7.95 respectively.

Meritage Homes Corp. traded in a range for the bulk of Wednesday's session and closed unchanged at $84.70. The stock finished at the lower end of a 2-week range at the highs of the year.

Pulte Homes Beat The Q2 Consensus - Stock To Watch (PHM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)

(RealTimeTraders.com) Pulte Homes (PHM) reported second quarter EPS of $2.30 after the bell on Wednesday, which topped the consensus estimate of $2.09. The company increased its full year 2005 EPS guidance to between $10.00 and $10.50, compared to the consensus estimate of $10.13. The company's Board of Directors also declared a 2-for-1 stock split in the form of a 100% stock dividend.

Pulte Homes climbed to the upside in the final 2 hours of Wednesday's session and closed higher by 0.94 at $92.65. The stock finished near the middle of a 2 1/2 week range at the highs of the year.

Express Scripts Inc. Exceeded The Q2 Consensus - Stock To Watch (ESRX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)

(RealTimeTraders.com) Express Scripts Inc. (ESRX) reported second quarter EPS of $0.60 after the close on Wednesday, which beat the consensus estimate of $0.57. Full year EPS is expected to come in between $2.37 and $2.42, compared to the consensus estimate of $2.33.

Express Scripts Inc. pulled back in the first 30 minutes of Wednesday's session and closed lower by 0.42 at $48.57. The stock finished near the lower end of a narrow, week and a half long range.



Celgene Corp. Is Heading Higher On Q2 Results (CELG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)


(RealTimeTraders.com) Celgene Corp. (CELG) reported second quarter EPS of $0.17 Thursday morning, compared to the $0.07 reported last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.14. The stock is now up 1.60 on 13K shares on Instinet.

Celgene Corp. moved to the downside at the open of Wednesday's session, before settling into a range, to close down by 0.20 at $47.27. The stock closed near the middle of a 2-week range at the highs of the year.

Andrew Corp. - UPDATE - Pulling Back Following Q3 Miss (ANDW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating)

(RealTimeTraders.com)  We alerted readers at 7:16 that Andrew Corp. (ANDW) reported third quarter EPS of $0.08, which fell short of the consensus estimate of $0.13. Fourth quarter EPS is expected to come in between $0.04 and $0.07, including intangible amortization costs of approximately $0.02 per share. The stock is now down 2.49 on 17K shares Thursday morning on Instinet.

Andrew Corp. climbed to the upside in the later half of Wednesday morning and finished higher by 0.66 at $13.93. The stock rose to a 7 1/2 month high.
