  • Promises to cut $2 billion by the end of 2009 and a major dividend cut sent shares of Wachovia (WB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) soaring on Tuesday, despite the company's abysmal earnings report. Shares of Wachovia ended the day higher by more than 27%.

  • This morning before the market opens, Boeing (BA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report earnings per share of $1.22 for the quarter. The stock was up a little more than 1% on Tuesday.

  • JetBlue Airways Corporation (JBLU | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and US Airways Group Inc. (LCC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) both surprised analysts on Tuesday by beating estimates. JetBlue was up more than 15%. US Airways climbed by more than 58%.
