The employment situation being worse than expected weighed on stocks despite very positive words from both the Fed and Goldman Sachs. Goldman sees an end to the credit crisis leading to a strong 2010 and 2011. While the Fed's Beige Book report indicated improvement across the United States. The DJIA gave back 18.90, while the Nasdaq gained 9.22 and the S&P 500 eased higher by 0.38.
