Poor manufacturing data and disappointing auto sales - to say nothing of anticipation over the Presidential election tomorrow - kept stocks at a virtual standstill as markets closed on Monday.


The Dow slipped lower by 5.18. The Nasdaq Composite edged higher by 5.38. And the S&P 500 closed down 2.45.


Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Tuesday.


MasterCard ( MA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reported quarterly earnings of 2.47 Monday after the market closed, handily beating analyst estimates. Shares were up more than 6% immediately after the announcement.


A positive research report on semiconductor stocks by Citigroup helped boost shares of stocks like Varian Semiconductor ( VSEA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which gained more than 6% late in trading on Monday and SanDisk Corporation ( SNDK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which was up more than 3%.


Archer-Daniels Midland ( ADM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reports quarterly earnings Tuesday morning before the market opens. Analysts are expecting EPS of 0.69.


Circuit City ( CC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) announced on Monday that it was closing 155 stores and laying off as much as 17% of its workforce in the United States.


Reporting earnings Tuesday morning before the bell, Marvel Enterprises ( MVL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to announce earnings per share of 0.43.


Merrill Lynch issued a report suggesting that the slowing economy will hurt theme park profits at The Walt Disney Company ( DIS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). Shares of Disney were down more than 3% late in trading on Monday.
