Another volatile day in the markets saw stocks rally early and fade late on Tuesday.

The Dow fell 76.62. The Nasdaq Composite lost 65.24. And the S&P 500 closed lower by 5.34.

Analysts are also expecting earnings per share of 0.77 from Coca Cola (KO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which also reports earnings Wednesday morning before the bell.

Microsoft (MSFT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) shares slid by more than 5% on Tuesday, as Credit Suisse cut its 2009 and 2010 earnings forecast for the software maker, citing slowing PC demand.

JP Morgan Chase (JPM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to announce EPS of -0.17 during its quarterly earnings report Wednesday morning before the open.
