Trading After Dark: The Big Saturday Interview with Trader Don Miller

Don Miller’s latest trader education project is a new video series, Trading After Dark, that lets viewers look over his shoulder as he trades the market on an intraday basis.

Says Don:

The idea really came from the Poker After Dark series. The poker industry has gone through a tremendous transformation in recent years, largely as a result of what they call “hole cams”, cameras that are embedded in the table that show (the audience) the player’s cards. People watching the sessions can get inside the heads of a particular poker player and understand what he or she was thinking at the time and see how they played it.

And so we tried to do the same thing with Trading After Dark: which is essentially to capture everything, to capture the critical charts I am viewing as well as the order entry system as well as the Live P&L (profit and loss). So we’ve taken what has worked in the poker industry and we’ve applied it here.

The goal? More than just teaching traders how to trade, Trading After Dark is about providing an authentic trading experience from the real-time viewpoint of a veteran trader, as well as transparency in a field that has too often been opaque.

As such, Trading After Dark helps traders understand in real-time what it is like to trade the market intraday. From set-ups and strategies to the moves that make or break even the best-laid plans of veteran traders, Trading After Dark is a fascinating journey to the intraday heart of the market.

Don Miller is an independent fund trader, educator, blogger and member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He is best known as an intraday trader, especially in the S&P 500 e-mini market. His performance as a private fund trader has been stellar, returning more than 800% since his fund’s inception in 2004, including gains of more than 200% in 2008.
