BRIEF: Southwest offers ticket exchange in advance of storm
Posted on: Mon, 08 Feb 2010 17:36:41 EST
Southwest Airlines is allowing passengers flying in or out of Milwaukee and some other Midwestern cities Tuesday or Wednesday morning to exchange their tickets for other dates because of the snowstorm forecast to begin Monday night.
Southwest is the first airline to announce the free ticket exchange for Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport in advance of the storm. The major airlines that fly through Mitchell usually allow passengers to change flights for free as heavy snowstorms approach.
Several air carriers, including Delta Airlines and Midwest Airlines, allowed ticket exchanges for mid-Atlantic cities that were hit by a storm late last week.
The latest local forecast calls for 10 to 16 inches of snow in the Milwaukee area by Tuesday night.
Southwest's Web site has more information for ticket-holders who would like to change their flights.
