Macquarie Aircraft Leasing and Hong Kong Aviation Company are believed to have lodged bids for American International Group's $US3.5bn ($A3.8bn) aircraft portfolio. Macquarie and Och-Ziff Capital Management Group paid around $US1.5bn for GATX Corporation's assets in 2006, while Hong Kong aviation acquired Allco Finance Group's aircraft leasing assets in 2009.
